Mountainous village full of green with stunning view, known for the victorious battle of Nikitaras in May of 1821. It is 1050 from the sea level and 25km from Tripolis, 45 from Astros and has great accommodation with guest houses and tavernas. Ideal for weekends and for those who love nature and trekking - the village crosses the European Path E4. Visitors show great preference to the forest, that is outside Ano Doliana. Really famous is the marble of Doliana and you can visit the Folklore Museum Xristofili to know the art and tradition of the area. The festival of chestnut - local product of southern Kynouria that takes place in autumn, is really famous and attracts many visitors that can taste chestnut in a variety of recipes. The residents of the village move to Ano Doliana from Kato Doliana on 23rd April, when transfer the icon of St.George, from one village to the other on foot,a custom that passes down from generation to generation.
